What a BSCI Audit Grade Means for Buyers
Social compliance audits are now a baseline for retail and brand buyers. Here is how to read one.

BSCI is a social compliance programme run by amfori. Audits look at working conditions in a facility, including wages, working hours, health and safety and the treatment of workers.
The grading
Results run from A to E, with A the highest. A top grade signals strong performance against the programme's standards at the time of the audit.
What to ask for
The audit date and validity period.
Confirmation that the audit covers the facility making your product.
Access to the report or its verification through the amfori platform.
Evidence that any findings were corrected.
An audit is a snapshot, so check that it is current, and treat it alongside your own visits and inspections.
